Some people put their products on in the wrong order, or they don't know in which order they should be applying things and this can hamper the product's results. While you do not have to use all these products {I surely do not} you do want to use in this order just skipping the products that you do not use. It is really quite simple, it is pretty much the lightest liquids to the heaviest liquids. Enjoy.

11 Steps to get your business off to a great start!



1.   Inventory: meet with your director for your personal business plan. Determine your inventory needs. Make your decision within 1 week and then work with your director to place initial order to be sure you take advantage of all first-time ordering bonuses.

2.   Register for Consultant First Steps: log on to marykayintouch.com

3.   Setup Mary Kay Website: log on to marykayintouch.com and set up personal Mary Kay website for only $25 your first year.
 
4.   Order your business card kit: Log on to mkconnections.com, the business kit is recommended. Be sure you include your website address!
 
5.    Open a separate bank account: go to a bank where they offer accounts with free checking and a debit card. You should keep your business and your personal finances separate!
 
6.   Make a list of everyone you know: These contacts will be the start of your new business to do your first power start – 30 faces in 1 month! Don’t pre-judge, make a special mark next to those people who you might like to have on your team and invite them to get on our marketing call.
 
7.    Book 10 classes or facials: These are your practice facials with all of your friends, family, co-workers, and neighbors. Call everyone with skin and schedule their facial with 2 of their friends. Book your 10 appointments and shadow your recruiter’s class.
 
8.   Become familiar with the products: Use all products, from head to toe! Study the Look Book, Beauty Book, and Product Central online.
 
9.   Listen to training CDs & watch the DVD found in your Starter Kit. It is important that you get all the training that you can!
 
10.   Attend meetings: Meetings are not mandatory, but consultants who “show up”, “go up”.
 
11.   Stay in touch with your director: don’t forget to turn in your weekly accomplishments sheets.

A Tale of Two Hostesses

She prepared a buffet that was fit for a king,
But forgot to give her guests a reminder ring.
Only one guest arrived, the glamour to see,
“Why,” Jane wondered, “does this happen to me?”

And then there was Mary, so excited was she;
She was planning on getting her products for FREE!
She called 8-10 people, the date they were told,
She invited more people than the table would hold!

People wanted to know what the excitement was about,
So she stopped and pulled her catalog out.

The Mary Kay Ash Foundation

Throughout her life, Mary Kay Ash showed others how to live and how to give. She gave hope to women who lacked opportunity, self-esteem and financial support. Now her legacy of love lives on through The Mary Kay Foundation, which she began in 1996. Make a tribute in honor of Mary Kay Ash today. Our mission is to eliminate cancer and to end the epidemic of violence against women. Our accomplishments are highlighted in our 2011 Year in Review.

How Mary Kay's quest for the cure began
Virtually everyone has been touched by cancer in some way. Mary Kay's personal encounter came in 1980 when her husband, Mel Ash, died of lung cancer. Subsequently, each time a member of the extended Mary Kay family was diagnosed with cancer, she became even more determined to work to find a cure. In 1987, Mary Kay decided to put her money where her heart was and asked employees at Mary Kay Inc. and the independent sales force to do the same. Together they began raising funds for cancer research, and in 1996, the Mary Kay Ash Charitable Foundation was established to formalize the raising and distributing of research funds for cancers affecting women. In 2009, the name of the Foundation was changed to The Mary Kay Foundation. Domestic Violence Added to Our Mission. Mary Kay cared about all issues affecting women. Her mission was to enrich women's lives around the world. So when the first domestic violence shelter was being established in Dallas, the founders naturally came to her for potential funding, volunteers and product donations. Mary Kay responded with support. She knew domestic violence was a problem in the community. In time, she began to hear how prevalently this issue affected the Mary Kay Inc. independent sales force across the nation. So in July 2000, the Foundation embraced a second mission: to prevent violence against women.

10 Tips to Deal with Uncertainty

For your inspiration!

1. Clearly define what inspires you.
There’s is a big difference between taking action out of inspiration versus desperation. Use this season as an opportunity to hibernate into the recessesof your own mind and define what you choose to create in your next spring.

2. Control your focus.Energy flows where attention goes. Are you focusing on lack or opportunity?

3. Feed your mind.
What’s your constant mental diet? Do you spend hours in front of the scare news or are you reading good books, attending more positive seminars, watching uplifting DVDs and listening to powerful CDs?

4. Strengthen your body
Your physical health and vitality have a tremendous impact on your performances as well as your mental and emotional fitness. Exercise releases stress as well as strengthen your body and mind.
 
5. Inventory your friends.
Doom and gloom attracts more doom and gloom. Jettison those “energy vampires” around you and surround yourself with opportunity seekers.

6. Quiet your mind.
Take time to meditate daily and slow down if only for a few minutes. Ten to fifteen minutes of meditation will relieve hours of stress and increase creativity and resourcefulness.

7. Rid your life of escapist activities.
Overindulgence in TV, sleep and alcohol only accelerate the problems you’re attempting to avoid.

8. Make a daily gratitude list.
Focusing on all the good, gifts and God in your life puts you in the right line of thought, feeling and their subsequent actions, which will attract and create more good, gifts and God.

9. Change your attitude.
Realize that everything that’s happened in your life thus far is her to serve you, teach you and help you grow, Find lessons in your past results, forgive yourself for anything you could have done better and apply the lesson to move forward and create a better future.

10. Get Resourceful.
For the next 3 days, go to a place where you can have uninterrupted time … come up with 20 new ideas to grow your income, create new results and improve your life. You cannot leave your spot until you have twenty and no editing! All ideas are good ideas. Do this for 3 successive days with 20 new ideas each day. Now take your list of 60 unique ideas and pick the three to five most powerful and leveraged ones to put into action. Pick these 3 to 5 based on:  ease of implementation, rate of return and speed of return. Remember: It’s not about resources … there are plenty of them. It’s about resourcefulness.

Volu-firm

" I am so excited to be part of your unit and part of Mary Kay! First, I’d like to tell you a little about my background. I started my cosmetic career in 1990 at the age of 19. I have worked for and been trained by several cosmetic companies including Lancome, Prescriptives and Borghese. During my career I also managed a cosmetic department at Nordstrom which allowed me access to training with every cosmetic line we carried. In 2004 I was introduced to Mary Kay Cosmetics and became a consultant. I had a successful business in Corvallis until 2010 when I moved to Las Vegas. I chose to leave Mary Kay, and focus more on my family, new home, and volunteering in my community.

It’s been 2 years since I left Mary Kay. I’ve purchased some things form Mary Kay since I left, but I have also tried many other products, looking for the perfect eye cream, a better night cream etc. I purchased retinol products from Philosophy, eye creams from Roc and countless other companies. I spent a small fortune trying to find something to turn back the clock. I’m sure many of our customers do the same. Last month, Ronnie gave me samples of the new Volu-Firm set. Wow! This is exactly what I have been searching for! Volu-firm is the best age defying product I have ever used! I believe in this so much that I resigned my consultant agreement!

10 Steps to Your Red Jacket

1)   Attend all MK events
2)   Daily, weekly, monthly, yearly goal
3)   Say daily affirmations: the next step (wake up & going to bed)
4)   Evaluate your appearance and the areas you would like to improve!
5)   Organize your family; discipline yourself. Share the aspects of family with others.
6)   Complete a weekly plan sheet and accomplishment sheet write your goal in
pencil and feel it in with ink when accomplished. Work Mary Kay, don't just live it!
7)   Read career essentials book and listen to CDs.
8)   Organize your office. (compartmentalize your life)
9)   Go to work! Talk to people you meet, daily. Handout 5+ business cards a  day. Before and after shots. Reach everyone in arms length! Have a plan and work it!
10)  Attitude is 90% of it. Be positive and know that you can succeed!! Celebrate all the little successes because they lead to bigger successes!!  Make enough money to be able to buy something for yourself and celebrate that!

Time Wise Repair

You should recommend this line to anyone wanting the latest in anti-aging benefits who puts value on having great skin and is willing to make the investment - not just those with damaged skin or those in their 40's, 50's and beyond!

The Foaming Cleanser is not a 3 in 1.  There is no mask or freshener in it.  Yet these ingredients do balance, hydrate and tone the skin.  If a client who has oily skin still feels oily after using it for a few weeks then add the botanical freshener.

The Firming Lifting Serum should be used after the cleanser.
 
Putting on the Day and Night cream MUST be applied in a circular motion or you will find pieces of skin on your face.
The Retinal dissolves the dead skin. They do not recommend using Microdermabrasion more than twice a week with this system, but if you feel you need to use it.  Know that by over-using it, you can damage your new skin cells.  So, when using Microdermabrasion, use it more gently.

She said that if you can exclusively use the complete TW Repair line for 3 months without the extra supplements, that you will be amazed with the results.  So, having 5 steps on our bathroom cabinet instead of 15 of them will simplify our life.   OK I am already hyperventilating.......no Night Time Restore, no Serum C......OMG.

It is for damaged skin.  So, make an exception to anyone in their 40's that have a lot of damage on their skin.  Be practical......but, they do encourage 50 and over.
 
She did also say that if your customer has great looking skin with our TimeWise Miracle system than she doesn’t really need to change.  So, don’t try to switch everyone over 50 to the new products.  However if they are challenged with deep lines like on the forehead and saggy cheeks than you might want to encourage them to try it.

Life can be Good

I am working on becoming a red jacket and while I do not plan on moving into a sales director position; I am a C-type personality and  I love being organized. I also desire to help other women who may be interested in another consultant's hints, tips, even see some of the things she uses!
Whether or not someone truly finds anything useful here, it is great for me and those that I recruit to find things from my unit or that have worked for other consultants and their units!!
